📍 Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: The City of Marble (Jabalpur)
- Arrival: Land at Jabalpur (JLR) or arrive by train.
- Sightseeing: Head straight to Bhedaghat. Take a boat ride through the Marble Rocks (breathtaking under moonlight or sunset). Visit the thundering Dhuandhar Falls.
- Evening: Witness the spiritual Narmada Aarti at Gwarighat.
- Stay: Jabalpur.
Day 2–4: Into the Wild (Kanha National Park)
- Day 2 (Transfer): A 4-hour drive ($165$ km) takes you from the city to the lush Sal forests of Kanha. Spend the evening relaxing at your jungle resort.
- Day 3 & 4 (Safaris): You have two full days here. I recommend:
- Morning Safaris: The best time for Tiger sightings and seeing the rare Hard-ground Barasingha (only found here).
- Afternoon: Visit the Kanha Museum or take a Nature Trail walk with a local naturalist.
- Tribal Culture: In the evening, visit a nearby Baiga or Gond tribal village to see local life.
- Stay: Kanha (3 Nights).
Day 5–7: The Queen of Satpura (Pachmarhi)
- Day 5 (The Long Drive): Transfer from Kanha to Pachmarhi (approx. 7–8 hours). It’s a long journey, so keep this day light. Check in and enjoy the cooler mountain air.
- Day 6 (Waterfalls & Views): * Visit Bee Falls (you can swim here) and Apsara Vihar.
- End the day at Dhoopgarh—the highest point in Madhya Pradesh—for a legendary sunset.
- Day 7 (Caves & Spiritual Sites):
- Explore the Pandav Caves (ancient rock-cut Buddhist caves).
- Visit Jata Shankar and Bada Mahadev, shrines nestled inside natural deep-rock formations.
- Stay: Pachmarhi (3 Nights).
Day 8: Departure
- After breakfast, check out.
- Option A: Drive to Pipariya Railway Station (approx. 1 hour) for your train.
- Option B: Drive back to Jabalpur (approx. 5–6 hours) for your flight/train home.
💡 Pro-Tips for Your Trip
- Safari Booking: Kanha safaris sell out months in advance. Book your permits on the official MP Online portal as soon as your dates are fixed.
- Pachmarhi Transport: Private vehicles are restricted in many parts of Pachmarhi. You will likely need to hire a local registered 4x4 Gypsy for sightseeing.
- Best Time to Visit: October to March offers the best weather. The parks are closed during the monsoon (July–September).
