Overview
A trip covering 1 Night in Jabalpur and 2 Nights in Kanha is the quintessential "River & Range" circuit. You get to see the stunning marble cliffs of the Narmada and the wild sal forests that inspired The Jungle Book.
Since Kanha is roughly 165 km (4 hours) from Jabalpur, a 3-night/4-day plan is the most balanced way to avoid rushing.

Details
Best Time
October to March (Pleasant weather). April–June is best for tiger sightings but very hot.
Safari Booking
Must be booked in advance via the MP Forest official site. Slots fill up months ahead.
Transport
Hiring a private AC taxi from Jabalpur for the full 4 days is the most convenient option.
What to Pack
Muted colors (khaki, olive) for safaris; a light jacket for early mornings even in summer.
🐅 Why this works
Jabalpur acts as the perfect "soft landing" with its dramatic scenery before you head into the raw wilderness of Kanha. By staying 2 nights in Kanha, you get at least two or three safari slots, which significantly increases your chances of a tiger sighting.
