Day 1: Arrival & The Spirit of Indore

  • Morning/Afternoon: Arrive at Indore (Airport or Railway Station). Visit the Lal Bagh Palace to see the grandeur of the Holkar dynasty and the Kanch Mandir, a Jain temple made entirely of glass.
  • Evening: Head to the historic Rajwada Palace. As the sun sets, visit the famous Sarafa Bazaar, which transforms from a jewelry market into a bustling street food hub after 10 PM.

Day 2: Romance in Stone (Mandu)

  • Morning: Drive to Mandu (approx. 2.5 hours). Start with the Jahaz Mahal (Ship Palace), which appears to float between two lakes.
  • Afternoon: Explore the Hindola Mahal (Swing Palace) and Hoshang Shah's Tomb—India's first marble structure, which is said to have inspired the Taj Mahal.
  • Evening: Visit Rani Roopmati's Pavilion for a breathtaking sunset view over the Narmada valley before your overnight stay.

Day 3: Island of Devotion (Omkareshwar)

  • Morning: Depart for Omkareshwar (approx. 3 hours). The town is situated on an island shaped like the sacred "Om" symbol.
  • Afternoon: Visit the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga and the Mamleshwar Temple. Take a boat ride on the Narmada River to see the confluence of rivers.
  • Evening: Experience the serene evening Aarti at the river banks.

Day 4: The Sacred City of Mahakal (Ujjain)

  • Morning: Head to Ujjain (approx. 3 hours). If possible, pre-book the Bhasma Aarti (usually held at 4 AM) at the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga.
  • Afternoon: Walk through the majestic Mahakal Lok Corridor. Visit the Kal Bhairav Temple, where the deity is famously offered liquor.
  • Evening: Visit Ram Ghat for the evening Kshipra River Aarti and stay overnight in the spiritual city.

Day 5: The City of Lakes (Bhopal)

  • Morning: Drive to Bhopal (approx. 4 hours). On the way, you can stop at Sanchi Stupa (UNESCO site) or Bhimbetka Caves depending on your entry time.
  • Afternoon: Visit the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum, widely considered one of the best curated museums in India, and the Birla Temple.
  • Evening: Relax by the Upper Lake (Bada Talab) with a boat ride or a stroll along the promenade before your final night stay.

Travel Tip: Since you are covering significant ground, hiring a dedicated cab for the 5-day circuit is recommended for flexibility. Many travelers also add a stop at Maheshwar (famous for its handloom sarees and ghats) between Mandu and Omkareshwar if time permits.
