The Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Jabalpur (The Marble City)

  • Late Afternoon: Head to Bhedaghat (25km away). Take a boat ride through the towering Marble Rocks on the Narmada River.

  • Evening: Witness the powerful Dhuandhar Falls and visit the 10th-century Chausath Yogini Temple. If time permits, attend the Narmada Aarti at Gwarighat.

  • Stay: Jabalpur.

Day 2: Jabalpur to Kanha (165 km | ~4 hrs)

  • Morning: After breakfast, drive to Kanha National Park.

  • Afternoon: Check into your jungle resort. Enjoy a peaceful lunch and the sounds of the forest.

  • Evening: Take a nature walk or visit a nearby Baiga tribal village to experience local culture.

  • Stay: Kanha (near Khatia or Mukki gate).

Day 3: Deep in the Jungle (Kanha Safari)

  • Early Morning: Set out for an Open Jeep Safari (approx. 6:00 AM). Kanha is the land of "The Jungle Book"—keep an eye out for Tigers, Leopards, and the rare Hard-ground Barasingha.

  • Afternoon: Visit the Kanha Museum inside the park or relax by the pool.

  • Optional: A second afternoon safari if you're a true wildlife enthusiast.

  • Stay: Kanha.

Day 4: Kanha to Pachmarhi (340 km | ~7-8 hrs)

  • Morning: A long but scenic drive across the Satpura range.

  • Afternoon: Arrive in Pachmarhi, the "Queen of Satpura." At 1,100m altitude, the air is noticeably cooler.

  • Evening: Relax at the hotel or take a light stroll to the local market.

  • Stay: Pachmarhi.

Day 5: Pachmarhi – Waterfalls & Sunsets

  • Morning: Visit Bee Falls, a stunning 35m cascade (be prepared for a bit of a hike).

  • Afternoon: Explore Reechgarh (a natural amphitheater-like cave) and Handi Khoh (a deep 300ft ravine).

  • Sunset: Head to Dhoopgarh, the highest point in Madhya Pradesh, for a panoramic sunset view.

  • Stay: Pachmarhi.

Day 6: Pachmarhi – Caves & Heritage

  • Morning: Visit the Pandav Caves, where the five brothers are said to have stayed during exile. Follow this with Jata Shankar and Bade Mahadev (natural cave shrines).

  • Afternoon: Spend time at Apsara Vihar (Fairy Pool) and Priyadarshini Point for valley views.

  • Stay: Pachmarhi.

Day 7: Departure

  • Morning: After breakfast, drive to Pipariya Railway Station (50 km | 1 hr) or back to Jabalpur (250 km | 5 hrs) for your return flight/train.

Pro-Tips for 2026

  • Safari Booking: Kanha safaris sell out months in advance. Book your permits via the official MP Forest website as soon as your dates are fixed.

  • Local Transport: In Pachmarhi, outside vehicles are often restricted in forest zones. You will need to hire a registered local 4x4 Gypsy for sightseeing.

  • Best Time to Visit: * Wildlife: March to May (Best for tiger sightings as they come to water holes).

    • Climate: October to February (Pleasant weather throughout).

    • Note: National Parks usually close from July to September during the monsoon.
